Louise Sicuro has dedicated her life to creation and the promotion of culture. Driven by a burning desire to foster access to it, she became a cultural mediation manager and strategist. A dynamo in the democratization of the arts, she founded Culture pour tous and rallied both private and public partners to her cause, bringing the cultural milieu together with the teaching and business worlds.

An engaged visionary, she created Journées de la culture, a unifying initiative that has been transforming relationships between audiences and artists since 1997. During this annual event, public participation in the arts reaches from school to the office, from workshops to studios, and from stages to the wings.

Constantly looking to expand the limits of her involvement, Louise Sicuro is also the initiator of the Groupe de recherche en médiation culturelle, a cultural mediation research group now called the Observatoire des médiations culturelles, and a mentorship program for school retention, in addition to working on Québec’s digital culture plan and implementing the Lab culturel, an incredible incubator of innovative digital projects. For this daughter of immigrants, culture is a place of welcome and sharing, and its universal language opens up a world of possibilities.
