On June 10, 2024, Claude Dubois received the insignia of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec, a prestigious distinction bestowed to personalities whose exemplary achievements reflect the artistic and literary development of Quebec. Discover the tribute paid to him by the Council.

Singer-songwriter, publisher, producer and host, Claude Dubois showed an extraordinary talent and a passion for music as young as age 12. With his powerful voice, undeniable charisma and eternally youthful looks, this giant of Québec song has earned a vast audience with an expansive, timeless body of work, which has crossed several generations.

With unconditional love for his mother tongue, Claude Dubois was the first francophone artist to fill the Forum and the Colisée de Québec. From boîtes à chansons to festivals, he has shared the stage with the greats. The proud recipient of a dozen Félix Awards, in 2001 he received a ADISQ Tribute for his career.

An avid traveller, faithful to his roots, inspired by the beauty of the world, he recorded some 40 albums celebrating love, hope and freedom. A poet and man of passion, Claude Dubois has written hundreds of songs, the lyrics of which remain etched deep in the heart of Québec.
