The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), in cooperation with the Administration régionale Baie-James, the AVATAQ Cultural Institute and La Fabrique culturelle de Télé-Québec, is pleased to announce a new prize for professional artists and writers in the region of Nord-du-Québec. Called the Prix du CALQ – Artiste de l’année au Nord-du-Québec, with a cash award of $10,000, it recognizes a resident of the region for the vitality of their artistic or literary career.
This award reflects the CALQ’s desire to offer tangible support to the careers of those who are making an outstanding contribution to the cultural vitality of their region through their work and talent. To promote artistic creation from the region and the award recipients, La Fabrique culturelle de Télé-Québec will create a video portrait during the year the prize is awarded (with certain exceptions).
Creators, writers and performers with more than three years of professional artistic practice are eligible.
The application deadline is May 22, 2020.
