This special financial assistance came from the budgets of existing programs to deal with short-term situations. For instance, cash flow problems to ensure essential services for the next month or additional costs incurred by artists abroad who must return to Québec.
The emergency assistance ended with the implementation of numerous measures as part of the Cultural Sector Economic Recovery Plan.
Artists’ remuneration
Artists and cultural workers have access to government assistance for the self-employed, which is the best resource in the circumstances. Arts organizations can also apply for the wage subsidy program announced by the federal government.
