“Events of recent years have demonstrated the fragility of victories won by women, including their right to express themselves in the public sphere. I hope this new work will remind Quebecers of the importance of celebrating and defending the pillars of our democracy, including the universal right to vote.”
- Nathalie Roy, President of the Assemblée nationale du Québec
“As we prepare to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec is proud to work with the Assemblée nationale du Québec on the creation of a work that will be testimony to the journey to women obtaining the right to vote in Québec. Beyond commemorating this major step forward for society, this partnership illustrates our ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion, and progress.”
- Anne-Marie Jean, President and Executive Director of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec
